VIETNAM'S OUTSTANDING PROPOSALS

During the discussion session focused on sustainable development and energy transition, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented three strategic and guiding proposals:

1. Promoting three core transitions: digital, green, and energy transitions:

   • Digital transformation as a crucial foundation.

   • Green transition as the guiding direction for development.

   • Energy transition as a driving force.

   • The Prime Minister emphasized the role of science, technology, and innovation in supporting developing countries to effectively implement these transitions.

2. Investing in human development:

   • Humans as the center and core resource of all development strategies.

   • Ensuring social justice, prioritizing social welfare, and protecting the environment.

   • The Prime Minister praised the G20 Presidency's efforts in reducing inequalities, particularly in gender equality and supporting women and children.

3. Enhancing innovative financial cooperation:

   • Calling for the mobilization and effective use of international resources.

   • Promoting public-private partnerships to invest in sustainable development goals and energy transition.

On November 19, 2024 (local time), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 2024 G20 Summit. Under the theme "Building a Fair World and a Sustainable Planet," the Prime Minister reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to sustainable development and energy transition.

VIETNAM'S COMMITMENT TO A GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Vietnam reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions before 2050, emphasizing that economic growth will not come at the expense of social welfare and environmental protection. Additionally, Vietnam announced its hosting of the P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals) Summit in April 2025, which received strong support from the international community.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SUMMIT AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The 2024 G20 Summit highlighted key messages:

• Increasing investment in a fair energy transition.

• Promoting multilateralism and international solidarity to address global challenges such as poverty and climate change.
